Your personality type shapes your entrepreneurship fears

Black Belt Startup

Welcome to the Dojo!

Fear hits everyone differently. And when you understand how you’re wired, you can move with it instead of getting stuck under it.

Over the last week, I’ve gone deep into this topic. I released a video I’ve been working on for a while — breaking down the biggest challenges and fears entrepreneurs face when they’re starting or growing a business (or stepping into any major initiative). I also hosted a livestream on 26 fears to conquer before 2026.

This newsletter continues that conversation. It shows you how your personality type shapes your fear — and the rung you need to climb next on your Confidence Ladder.

Take a read and let me know if you’re still stuck on taking the next step. Happy to be of help.

On the Mat

  1. Let’s Train: Entrepreneurs Often Ask, “How do I build confidence?”
  2. Ask Feras: “Your Expertise Is Not in Question”
  3. Sharpen The Blade: How to Move Past Fear (Based on Your Personality Type)

Let's Train

Entrepreneurs often ask, “How do I build confidence?”

The real question is: “How does my personality hold me back?”

Fear shows up in patterns.
Not random. Not personal.
Predictable.

Rationals freeze until they feel like experts.
Idealists avoid disappointing the people they love.
Guardians get trapped in preparation.
Artisans chase new ideas until they burn out.

Confidence comes from knowing your starting point on the Confidence Ladder.

Rationals need to take action before they feel fully informed.
Idealists need alignment at home before they can move.
Guardians need clarity — not perfection — to reduce anxiety.
Artisans need structure to keep their momentum from scattering.

If you don’t know your starting pattern, you’ll try to climb the wrong rung.
You’ll try to “be more confident” instead of supporting the fear underneath.

So here’s your challenge for the week:
Spot your temperament.
Identify the fear pattern.
Then take the next small action that fits your type.

That’s how confidence is built.
Rung by rung.

Ask Feras Recap

🔥 The Challenge

A highly technical, very accomplished founder came to me with an automation idea he believed could unlock a major opportunity in the digital marketing space. He asked what to do next to sell his idea and prototype.

I asked him to walk me through his plan for the next steps. Instead, he spent the first 15 minutes explaining the technical process in extreme detail — then shifted into another technical solution he was already thinking about building next.

He’s been basically focused on the technical side of the business for months… not a single sales conversation!

🛠️ What I Told Them

I shared the following with him:

“The technical work isn’t the issue. Your expertise is not in question. The gap is market contact.

You don’t need more engineering time. You need real feedback, real conversations, and real signals that this solves a painful problem for someone today.”

Sharpen Your Blade

How to Move Past Fear (Based on Your Personality Type)

In this week’s video, I break down how fear can be fuel — but only if you walk with it

Readiness isn’t something you earn before the journey.

It’s something you gain by taking the first imperfect step.

Here’s how to start climbing — based on how you’re wired:

🧠 Rational: Stop waiting to master everything. Test one offer and learn in motion.
💬 Idealist: Don’t protect your family/closed ones by hiding your dream. Invite them into it.
🧾 Guardian: You don’t need ten systems before your first client. Get paid first.
🔥 Artisan: Freedom needs a frame. Commit to one idea for 90 days.

You don’t need a new personality — you just need to understand how yours handles uncertainty.

Watch my newly released video on moving past your fears.
