Lighter days, stronger connections
Welcome to the Dojo!
Happy holidays!
As the year begins to slow down, I’m keeping this week’s newsletter intentionally lighter—giving us all a bit of breathing room.
Entrepreneurship is often described as a lonely journey. But after countless conversations with many of you, I’m reminded that we’re rarely as alone as we think. While it’s tempting to keep grinding, this is a good moment to shift focus from the to-do list to the who list.
Nurture Your Warm Network
In Ask Feras sessions, I’ve talked a lot about the power of your warm network—former colleagues, mentors, clients, and friends who already trust you. The holidays are an ideal time to reach out with no agenda beyond appreciation. Think of it as a small deposit into your emotional bank account. A simple “happy holidays” message to someone who supported you this year can be more meaningful than any cold outreach campaign.
The Power of Giving Back
This is also a natural time to give back and share. I often encourage founders to help others as they learn and grow—not later, not “once things slow down,” but along the way.
Sharing your time, insight, or resources isn’t just good for the recipient—it’s genuinely good for the mind and the spirit. I see this in stories like a founder, Jay, who’s building a medical center to honor his mother’s legacy, and in many of you who quietly offer your expertise pro bono to causes you care about. These moments remind us why we build businesses in the first place: not just to grow revenue, but to create lasting impact.
Take this time to rest, reconnect, and reflect. The heavy lifting of building and scaling will be waiting for us soon enough.
Wishing you and your family a peaceful and joyful holiday season.
