Do You Know Who Needs It?

Black Belt Startup

Good Morning!

In the next 48 hours, I’ll be releasing The Ultimate Guide to Starting a Consulting Business in 2025 video…after six months of planning and scripting, weeks of production, and more than 20 years of hard-won business lessons.

This is a big big deal for me, for our team at Start Up With Feras, and most importantly, for you 😀.

I poured everything I’ve learned into this guide to help you launch and grow a successful consulting or services business. This guide condenses 20+ years of entrepreneurship experience, tools, templates, and pro tips into 50 minutes.

All the core areas you need to nail down in your new consulting business are in there:

  • Vetting your idea
  • Marketing and sales for your first clients
  • Delivering for delight
  • Making the transition
  • Family buy-in
  • Mindset and commitment

It took me nearly seven years to hit 7 figures in my first consulting business, mostly because I thought I had to figure it all out on my own.

I know better now. The right guidance makes all the difference. I hope you’ll take full advantage of this video so you can reach your goals faster and maybe with a little less gray hair along the way 😀.

On the Mat

  1. You Nailed the Offer. But Do You Know Who Needs It?
  2. Selling Is a Muscle. Here's How I Built Mine.
  3. The Power of Speaking
  4. This Video Could Save You From 6 Months of Burnout

Let's Train

You Nailed the Offer. But Do You Know Who Needs It?

Last week’s newsletter opened a door that many aspiring consultants didn’t even know was closed.

The clarity of knowing what you offer, using the Offer Formula: Skill + Problem + Willing Wallets.

If you missed it, you can still catch up here, but I’d encourage you to stay with me for a moment, because as valuable as that first map was, it’s only half the picture.

Why?

Because even the clearest offer will fall flat if it’s pointed in the wrong direction, and that’s where most early-stage consultants silently stall.

That’s why this week, I’m sharing the second map.

It’s called the Ideal Client Blueprint, and it’s one of the most important tools I break down in the new video I’m about to release: a 50-minute guide for anyone serious about starting a consulting business that actually works.

What is the Ideal Client Blueprint?

It’s the difference between “You do consulting?” and “ We need you right now, can we book a call today?”

See, most consultants don’t fail because they lack skill; they fail because they spend months offering the right thing to the wrong people.

The Ideal Client Blueprint changes that.

It’s not about targeting everyone with a pulse; it’s a tool that forces you to focus like a sniper, not a sprinkler.

It answers three brutally important questions:

  1. Who is already feeling the pain you solve?
    • Not vaguely annoyed. Not casually interested. But bleeding time, money, or sanity from the very problem you fix.
  2. Who respects the problem enough to pay for it urgently?
    • Not “someday.” Not “maybe.” But “how soon can we start?”
  3. Who controls the decision?
    • Because selling to someone who needs permission is like punching a pillow. Feels like effort, gets you nowhere.

Let’s go deeper with an example.

Say you’re great at managing paid ads.

Instead of saying “I run Facebook campaigns,” try: “I help mid-size e-commerce brands scale profitably by fixing ad funnels that bleed money.”

That’s the Ideal Client Blueprint: match your skill to a specific pain, felt by someone who’s already spending to solve it.

And this is just one small piece of what’s inside the full 50-minute video I am about to release: The Ultimate Guide to Starting a Consulting Business in 2025.

I don’t hold anything back in this one.

I walk you through exactly how it works, using real examples, clear positioning breakdowns, and the same strategy I’ve used with clients who were stuck in “thinking mode” for months and needed a way to turn their rough ideas into offers people say yes to.

You’ll learn:

  • Why service-market fit matters more than personal branding in the early days
  • How to test your consulting offer without launching a website or spending a cent on ads
  • How to apply AI tools without getting distracted by shiny objects
  • Real-world breakdowns of positioning, pricing, and delivery from successful consultants who started with nothing but a skill

If consulting has been circling your mind and you want a real roadmap, not recycled tips.

Keep an eye on your inbox on Monday! (It might just be the most important 50 minutes you spend this year.)

Selling Is a Muscle. Here's How I Built Mine.

Yet again, another interesting question I got on Reddit that hit deep: “How did you find the courage to pitch your service to strangers when you were just starting?”

🔥 The Challenge

When I was trying to land my first web design clients, my business partner and I figured we’d start with the restaurants we frequented—where we already knew the owners (we thought it would make the pitch a little easier). We’d finish a meal, walk up to the cashier, and I’d awkwardly say: "Hey, we help restaurants get more customers online…” Most responses? Blank stares.

💡 What I Learned the Hard Way

Confidence isn’t something you wait for. You build it through reps. Each rejection gave us a better answer. Each stumble made us sharper.

🛠️ What I Told Them

Start before you feel ready, pitch, get rejected, and go home. Refine and repeat. Selling is a muscle, and every awkward attempt is part of getting strong.

The Power of Speaking

There's no question that speaking in front of an audience – especially a live audience – can be a powerful tool to demonstrate your technical expertise (as well as your winning personality) and to generate leads for your new business.

Check out this article for ideas about finding speaking opportunities. Before you go for the big leagues, start by targeting smaller, local, unpaid events; you can build from there.

Most new consultants make this mistake:

They copy someone else’s pricing…

Without ever asking why that model works for them.

The result?

You charge too little (and burn out) or charge too much (and can’t close).

But here's the truth no one tells you:

There are only 3 proven models for building a consulting business that works.

And each one has a completely different pricing, client experience, and operations strategy.

If you don’t know which one you're building toward…

You’ll end up stuck in the middle, overdelivering for clients who didn’t pay for it, or under-serving clients who expected more.

If you’re serious about growing your consulting business the smart way, watch the full breakdown here.
