Giving Back – Even When You’ve Just Started Your New Business

In the wake of the earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria in February 2023, many early-stage startups wondered how they could help.

Many entrepreneurs want to support different causes but don’t know how to when time and money are scarce. Starting a business takes a lot of time, capital, and energy, I know. However, building the habit of giving back in some way early in your startup’s life promotes a positive culture and brings much good to those in need.

Many people, even close to home, could benefit significantly by the small sacrifices you make.

Whether or not you’re donating money, find a nonprofit and donate your professional expertise, even for an hour a month. Many nonprofits have little budget for professional services consulting; your time could make a critical difference.
